This grand, four-year-old Colts Neck house is the home of John and Josephine Cocchiari and their two children. At 5,200 square feet, the house has plenty of space for entertaining, working and playing.
Interior decorator Alfonso DiLauro of Special F X Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville, was brought in by the homeowners to make the new construction into a beautiful living space for the family.
When you enter the home you feel that you are walking into a lavish European hotel lobby. Special features of the entryway are French limestone walls, marble floors, a grand staircase to the upper level, and a massive Alabaster chandelier.
To the left of the entryway is the living room, which has the feel of a formal study. The walls are painted in tone-on-tone chocolate, with a harlequin pattern. Focal points of this room are the custom-finished swan chairs, a card/chess table, wood floors, decorative crown molding and Italian velvet window treatments.
To the right of the entryway is a beautiful dining room, featuring English Chippendale furniture. The Schumacher wallpaper is very striking, and French silk window treatments frame the room.
Off of the living room is the office, in which
suede-painted walls and silk window treatments from India are the highlights.
The artwork of Josephine Cocchiari's father graces the walls of this room.
The great room is the center of family entertaining. It has two stories of windows which offer a view of the large backyard and built-in swimming pool. A fireplace, a large sitting area and an entertainment armoire fill the room. You can look down on the great room from the upstairs hallway.
The large kitchen is perfect for the homeowners, who enjoy cooking great Italian meals. The cabinets are made of beautiful cherry wood, the floor is terra cotta, the table is made of walnut wood, and the Viking cooking range is every chef's dream.
DiLauro noted that all of the window treatments in the home are made of fabrics from other countries except for the kitchen, which has decorative Martha Stewart fabric.
The rest of the home, which is slated to be redecorated in the future, include a conservatory, five bedrooms, and four-and-a-half bathrooms. |
